LEGO DIGITAL DESIGNER

LEGO DIGITAL DESIGNER

Lego Digital Designer lets you play like a kid again with those classic building blocks, but without the hassle of running out of pieces. Zoom around your creations in 360 degrees, and explore several alternatives for constructing your masterpiece.

The new Version 2 update adds a much improved brick palette for selecting pieces like basic blocks, engines, hinges, and sensors, and model templates to get you up and building quickly.

Portable software (the most famous being the PortableApps variety) is fantastic, especially in this age of supercheap portable memory devices. When I travel to my parents' house or anywhere I know I'll be using a shared computer, I always load up my portable drive with Firefox Portable (or the latest beta version) for browsing, OpenOffice.org Portable for DOC and XLS files, 7-Zip Portable for compression, and Portable GIMP for image editing.

The PortableApps Suite packages eight major software programs for antivirus protection, e-mail, office work, instant messaging, and scheduling. They're all managed through a nifty little interface that lets you add other portable software hosted at the PortableApps Web site..

Do you use portable applications when you travel? If so, what devices do you run them off or on? Got a cool Lego creation to share?
